Designing an organizational effectiveness infrastructure strategy
We developed and implemented a strategy to refine operational processes and transform our client’s infrastructure through the adoption of new tools and processes.
The Situation
The internal consulting services organization at a major global pharmaceutical corporation set a course to enhance its management processes and tools to better support its clients. The group needed to align its work with the corporation’s goals and required a comprehensive approach to forecasting, tracking and reporting.
The Satori Solution
We helped leadership identify critical short-term tracking and reporting needs. We then developed a strategic framework that identified key functional capabilities required by the internal group and proposed a way to integrate work and planning cycles. This supplied an end-state vision of the infrastructural requirements to support the group’s work and the tools and processes to achieve it. We completed the requirements definition, sourcing, customization and implementation of a database tool to support the group’s reporting, forecasting, and capability planning functions. By adopting the tool, the organization increased operational efficiency and transparency with their business clients and sponsors.
We also created a plan to develop and implement the remaining work-planning functions identified in the strategic infrastructure framework (e.g. Knowledge Management, Personnel/Career Development, etc.)
The Results
The project’s target of aligning projects with corporate goals has allowed the group to report key performance indicators and articulate the business impact of their work. This has enhanced customer relations and resulted in the group being viewed as a key contributor and trusted advisor.
