Overview
Values@Work™ couples Satori's organizational effectiveness
and program management methodology with an objective cultural
assessment to ensure that organizations optimize their most
precious resource: their people. We believe that individuals
are motivated by their values; by understanding these values,
we are able to provide more introspective solutions and get
to the "root cause" of human dynamic issues.
Values@Work™ is deployed in a variety of critical settings
and enables executives and organizations to:
Classify and explain leadership and management styles
Assign individuals to most appropriate roles on projects
and teams
Diagnose communication problems within groups and between
managers and their teams
Plan and implement change initiatives more effectively
by predicting resistance
Recognize and manage cultural differences at the organizational,
team and functional level
Provide senior executives with the insight and self-awareness
to manage diverse groups with different
missions to maximum effect.
Theory
Values@Work is based on the value systems theory developed
by Dr. Clare W. Graves, an American psychologist who worked
closely with Abraham Maslow. His theory provides insight into
how individuals will respond to situations based on dominant
drives which are tied directly to their values. Graves showed
that every individual carries a number of fundamental values,
distributed in different proportions. The values were assigned
colors for easy visual reference:
Purple - safety, security
Red - speed, power
Blue - order, rules, duty
Orange - competition, being better
Green - ideals, community
Yellow - intellectual, conceptual
Turquoise - holistic, global
Combinations of intensity and sequence of these views, or
drives, illustrate how an individual thinks, acts and reacts.
We draw validated, verifiable conclusions from individual
and group profiles regarding individual performance, group
behavior, communication and management and implement solutions.
Assessment
We utilize a brief web-based assessment (it takes approximately
20 minutes to complete) to ascertain an individual's values
sequence. The assessment results are analyzed by Satori consultants
who provide a comprehensive interpretation to the appropriate
client audience. Our deliverable includes a practical approach
on how to address the people side of our client's initiative(s),
specifically crafted to achieve the group's mandate and/or
objectives. Satori's recommendations are insightful, relevant,
and pragmatically focused on results.
Thought Leadership
Our consultants possess a unique perspective on delivering
best-in-class solutions and are often asked to share them
at conferences or in publications. We have been asked to present
our values based approach to managing the human elements of
a project, from the critical front-end planning stage through
the various post-implementation activities at the 2005 ProjectWorld
Conference. The presentation is available below as well as
an article about the theory.
You can also take our quick survey which was specifically
designed to assist you in discovering what core values drive
your style of project management by clicking on the survey

first step in building effective teams and identifying how
to best leverage each team member's values to optimize performance
and deliver project results.
