As a result of a Business Partner (BP) forum that we had previously planned and facilitated, the IT leadership of a global biotechnology firm recognized the need to develop a training curriculum that would provide BP’s with the necessary skills to perform their jobs effectively.
We developed a Business Partner competency model that was used to identify training needed at every level of Business Partner. This competency model was developed in conjunction with IT HR to ensure consistency with the competency models being developed for the rest of the IT organization. A training curriculum was defined to support the competency model.
The competency model and curriculum were approved by a Business Partner review committee and embedded within the client’s existing IT curriculum, providing BP’s with a strong and standardized skill-set..
