The Primary Care business unit of a global pharmaceutical firm sought to optimize its annual operational planning process, in particular by better integrating the HQ and field planning efforts.
We managed the process redesign workstream tasked with re-engineering the annual operational planning process. Based on an understanding of the current state, we facilitated working sessions with SMEs to document proposed future state enhancements and aided the workstream sponsor in defining and designing specific process changes/mechanisms (e.g. new cross-functional teams comprised of customer-facing and HQ marketing personnel). The future state defined the cross-functional team structure, created detailed roles and responsibilities, and crafted processes to support the framework. We actively participated in the planning and launch of the teams.
The cross-functional teams and revised annual operational planning process were successfully launched and deployed at the kickoff of the next operational planning cycle.
